At a Hospital or Care Facility
If under Hospice care, contact the Hospice Nurse. They will respond to your home and make the pronouncement of death.
Ask the nurse to contact Simplicity Cremation at (888) 959-9101. We will dispatch our staff immediately.
If not under Hospice care, dial 911 for law enforcement to pronounce death. They will determine if the coroner or Simplicity Cremation will be able to receive the loved one into our care.

Once we obtain a written release from the next of kin, we will receive the loved one into our care. Please let the Medical Examiner or Coroner know you have selected Simplicity Cremation.
Our Cremation Process.
Step 1: Arrange a Cremation
- After all arrangements are made, we work to bring your loved one into our care as soon as possible.
Step 2: Registration of Death
- We work with your loved one’s Hospice or Doctor’s office to submit the proper document to the local county and state health departments to register your loved one’s death. The registration process can take between 2 to 7 business days.
Step 3: Cremation
- Simplicity Cremation offers a dignified direct cremation in our facilities located in San Bernardino or Palm Springs.
- Cremation can not take place until Registration of Death is complete and filed with local and state health department. Cremation typically takes place with in 10 days after Registration and receiving a California Disposition Permit.
Step 4: Return of Your Loved One
- Once Cremation has taken place. We will follow through with the instructions directed by the Next of Kin.
- Typically when receiving cremated remains at one of our offices. Our Staff will contact the person(s) indicated by the Next of Kin to schedule a release time, date, and office appointment.
